Background

The dragon fruit industry in Vietnam, recognized as a national staple fruit, continues to face several challenges, such as low prices during peak seasons, high logistics and storage costs, and issues related to black credit.

What we did

BCA Partners was engaged to lead the project, with the responsibility of driving a project team of around 20 individuals to identify the industry’s shortcomings and propose comprehensive solutions for the underlying causes. Key initiatives included:

  • Conducted research to identify root causes of major problems faced by the industry.
  • Developed strategies for plantation, logistics, and warehouse solutions. Proposed end-to-end value chain management improvements, including logistics, storage, processing, branding, and product portfolio diversification.
  • Designed market entry strategies for new export markets with high standards.
  • Formulated a technology strategy for agriculture (E-Farm software) to enhance product traceability. Planned plantation scale, recommended suitable cultivation technologies, and proposed seed solutions aligned with market requirements.
